Same price, rebuilt hardware.

All seven Super Early Bird reward tiers on the HeyGears G1X Kickstarter sold out before the campaign closed on 2026-09-11. Six of them now have a same-priced replacement tier — and every single one drops at least one item. The headline pair, Deluxe Bundle → 3-in-1 Bundle, looks like a downgrade at first read. It mostly isn't.

CUPP verdict

Most of what disappeared from the reward tiers was folded into a mid-campaign hardware redesign, not cut for margin. HeyGears' G1X Ink System Upgrade (~2026-09-01) replaced the fixed Resin Station and True DTF Transfer Kit with a swappable Relay Ink & Resin Hub — extra hubs and reservoirs now do the job the dedicated accessories used to do. Two things are genuine, no-substitute cuts: the annual HeyVerse Plus subscription (gone from every tier), and the Deluxe Material Pack (gone from the flagship bundle only). The base G1 Starter Pack has no replacement at all — the entry price is now $3,299 instead of $1,999.

The mechanism: what "Relay Ink & Resin Hub" actually does

HeyGears' own explainer — "G1X Ink System Upgrade | How to Change Ink & Switch Printing Modes" (~2026-09-01) — has the product manager describe it directly: "you can also swap the whole relay hub… when switching from the three major modes, like from UV printing to 3D printing or DTF printing." Each hub carries its own set of replaceable/refillable channel cartridges; parking one hub and docking another is how the G1X changes modes. That's the redesign behind every "Resin Station" and "DTF Transfer Kit" line item disappearing from the reward tiers — they were superseded by extra hub units, not simply cut.

Same pattern, single-hub scale: Full-3D Pack → 3D Edition ($3,599, both tiers)

Here there's only ever one hub, so "Resin Station" simply becomes the generic Fluid Station that docks it — a naming change tied to the same redesign, not a capability cut. The real drops are the Wide Gamut ink kit and, again, the HeyVerse Plus subscription. The Twin Pack ($6,798) and Studio Pack ($16,995) scale this exact pattern ×2 and ×5.

The rest of the set

  • G1X Starter Pack → UV Edition ($3,299): the cleanest case. Only the HeyVerse Plus subscription disappears — every hardware item and quantity is identical.
  • G1X Fabric Print Pack → Fabric Edition ($3,349): subscription drops; the aqueous-ink line item is renamed from "Refill Aqueous Ink 300ml ×8 (CMYK+Wx4)" to "Aqueous Ink & Cleaning Fluid Kit" — functionally the same ink.
  • G1 Starter Pack ($1,999): no replacement tier at all. The base, non-X G1 machine is gone from the current lineup — the cheapest option now is the G1X UV Edition at $3,299, a 65% higher floor.
