What a G1X print costs, by HeyGears' own numbers.
HeyGears' G1X Printing Samples Gallery (v3.0, exported 2026-09-09) shows 106 finished parts, and every card carries four fields: print size, material consumption, ink/resin cost, and print time. That cost field is the first per-part consumable figure any consumer UV-printer vendor has published. CUPP transcribed all 106 cards into a dataset and re-derived the economics from it.
The gallery prices consumables at a flat rate per millilitre: $0.025/ml for full-color 3D printing and ~$0.08/ml for ink in texture, 2D UV and DTF work. Those rates match HeyGears' Kickstarter add-on prices almost exactly: the 18-litre resin pack works out to $0.025/ml, and white UV or aqueous ink to $0.077/ml. They are backer prices. At the MSRP HeyGears lists next to each add-on, the same consumables cost 1.6–1.8× more: about $0.041–0.045/ml for bulk 3D resin and $0.12–0.16/ml for ink. That takes full-color printing from about $0.42 to about $0.68–0.75 of consumables per print hour. MSRP is a list price and may never be the street price, but it is a reasonable ceiling for planning. Every figure here is still vendor-published, from pre-production hardware. Independent shipping-unit numbers remain the open item (research ledger #02).
The four print modes, priced
| Mode | Samples | Consumable | Gallery $/ml | Kickstarter $/ml | MSRP $/ml | Throughput | Gallery cost per part |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full-color 3D printing | 60 | UV 3D resin | $0.025 | $0.023 – $0.035 | $0.036 – $0.059 | 16.7 cc/h · range 2.7 – 36.1 cc/h | $0.21 – $18.06 |
| 3D texture printing | 17 | UV ink | $0.080 | $0.077 – $0.117 | $0.121 – $0.197 | 19.5 cc/h · range 0.7 – 25.1 cc/h | $0.03 – $14.21 |
| 2D UV printing | 23 | UV ink | $0.079 | $0.077 – $0.117 | $0.121 – $0.197 | 15.9 cc/h · range 0.3 – 66.0 cc/h | $0.00 – $8.24 |
| DTF / DTG printing | 6 | Aqueous ink | $0.081 | $0.077 – $0.091 | $0.121 – $0.158 | 8.5 cc/h · range 1.2 – 12.8 cc/h | $0.01 – $0.26 |
Gallery cost per ml is the median of each sample's own cost ÷ volume. The spread inside every mode is under 4%, so it looks like a flat internal rate rather than measured per-job data. The Kickstarter and MSRP columns give the range across that consumable's add-on listings, from the cheapest bulk bottle to the most expensive single one (clear resin; varnish ink). Throughput is pooled (total volume ÷ total time), so big jobs carry their real weight.
Checking the gallery against real bottle prices
The G1X Kickstarter's add-on page, still open for late pledges, lists every consumable at a backer price and says how much that saves off MSRP. Adding the two together gives HeyGears' own list price. Where a kit bundles a 300 ml bottle of cleaning fluid, that bottle is valued at its own add-on price ($25, or $39 at MSRP) and left out of the per-ml figure.

| Aqueous Ink - White - 3x300ml | $69 | $109 | $0.077 | $0.121 |
| Aqueous Ink - CMYK - 4x300ml | $109 | $189 | $0.091 | $0.158 |
| Aqueous Ink - Aqueous & Cleaning Fluid Kit - 8x300ml (CMYK, 4W) + 300ml cleaning fluid | $229 | $389 | $0.085 | $0.146 |
| Cleaning Fluid - 300ml | $25 | $39 | $0.083 | $0.130 |
Only the gallery's 3D rate can be matched to a single product: $0.025/ml is exactly the 18-litre Mass Printing Pack at its Kickstarter price. The ~$0.08/ml ink rate sits at the bottom of the Kickstarter ink range (white ink, $0.077/ml), not at a CMYK or wide-gamut kit price. So for colour-heavy 2D work, even the backer-price cost may run a little above what the gallery shows. Full table: research/g1x_kickstarter_addon_prices.csv.

Eight corrections to the circulating cc-per-hour table
A summary table of the 60 full-color samples has been circulating with a headline figure of "14.62 cc per hour, average of all 60 values." Checked against the gallery cards themselves, eight of its 60 rows are off. None of them change the conclusion much, but two are structural: the tie-dye shoes and the rainbow bars are quoted by HeyGears as a pair and as two pieces, so doubling their volume doubles the apparent speed.
| Row | Part | Table says | Gallery says | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Viking Bust HD Texture Pack | 316.4 ml → 11.26 cc/h | 317.4 ml → 11.30 cc/h | Volume mistyped |
| 14 | Runic Battlehammer Orc Chieftain | 12 h 44 min → 15.57 cc/h | 12 h 55 min → 15.34 cc/h | Time mistyped |
| 33 | Tie-dye Shoes Ornament | 102.2 ml → 19.34 cc/h | 51.1 ml → 9.67 cc/h | Gallery figure is already for the pair; doubling it double-counts |
| 37 | Silver Elf Purple Wave Scale Figurine (Base) | 15.67 cc/h | 15.16 cc/h | Arithmetic slip; inputs are correct |
| 38 | Custom Wedding Couple Figurine | 16 h 02 min → 15.44 cc/h | 16 h 21 min → 15.14 cc/h | Time mistyped |
| 45 | Ilyra, the Rune-Marked Elf Healer | 14.4 ml → 4.72 cc/h | 14.1 ml → 4.62 cc/h | Volume mistyped |
| 47 | Mouth-watering Miniature Sushi Model 1 | 27.1 ml → 6.28 cc/h | 27.5 ml → 6.37 cc/h | Volume mistyped |
| 51 | Rainbow Gradient Transparent UV Print Model | 30 ml → 26.47 cc/h | 15 ml → 13.24 cc/h | Gallery figure is already for two pieces |
Corrected, the 60 full-color samples average 14.23 cc/h (median 12.30). The more useful figure is the pooled one — 16.7 cc/h, from 8,702 ml over 519.9 hours — because a straight average of 60 rates counts a 12 ml miniature the same as a 722 ml painting.
What these numbers still do not tell you
- What is inside the cost. A flat per-ml rate that matches bulk backer pricing suggests the gallery simply multiplies volume by a list rate. Whether "material consumption" includes support resin, purge and priming waste, or failed prints is not stated.
- What retail will really be. MSRP is HeyGears' own list price. Post-campaign street prices will probably land somewhere between the backer price and MSRP. Until HeyGears' store lists them, treat the MSRP column as a ceiling.
- Maintenance consumables. These are priced on the add-on page but not counted in any gallery figure: cleaning fluid ($25 / $39 MSRP per 300 ml), replacement air filters ($29 / $49 for three), ink absorbent pads ($69 / $99 for six), and a replacement i3200 printhead ($1,299, no MSRP given).
- Whether shipping hardware matches. Every figure here is vendor-published, from pre-production machines, on HeyGears' own model files. Nothing in the gallery is an independent measurement.
- Post-processing. Wash, cure and support removal are outside the quoted print times entirely.
