These are the only two machines in CUPP's entire 8-model dataset that do genuine full-color 3D printing, which makes them natural rivals even at very different price points — and the price gap turns out to track a real difference in what each machine is actually for.
The G1X Full-3D Pack is the more versatile buy. For $3,299 — less than half the QC2A's starting price — it adds full-color 3D to a machine that also does UV flatbed printing, 2.5D relief, and has a DTF path in progress. If full-color 3D is one capability among several you want, not the only one, the G1X covers more ground per dollar.
The QC2A is a dedicated tool with real strengths precisely because it isn't trying to do anything else: a photopolymer material-jetting system built specifically for full-color output, with a 2-year warranty against the G1X's one, and — per an independent reviewer with real industrial PolyJet operating experience — a genuinely credible endorsement: they specifically praised its water-soluble support removal over the lye-bath ultrasonic cleaning that industrial PolyJet machines normally require, and said their team was buying one and trying to get a second. That's a meaningfully strong data point from someone qualified to judge it.
The honest complication is that the QC2A also carries the most serious trust flag of anything in CUPP's dataset. The same Reddit thread with the expert endorsement also surfaces detailed skepticism: the campaign listed the company as New York-based while it's reportedly a fully China-based operation, no recognized color standard (Pantone, Toyo, HKS, Focaltone) is referenced anywhere in its materials, exact resin-pack contents and pricing are never disclosed, and other claimed product pages are dead links. One commenter in that same thread calls it "vaporware, expensive vaporware" — a much harsher assessment than the expert endorsement sitting right next to it.
